One of the best times to visit Mount Harmon and experience its Old World grandeur and hospitality is at the plantation’s annual special events. Mount Harmon special events celebrate its colonial and eastern shore heritage and are not to be missed.
Join us for Mount Harmon's special events and help to support one of Maryland's most beautiful historic sites. These events serve as important fund raisers that provide vital funding for Mount Harmon's operations, maintenance, and visitor programs.
Friends of Mount Harmon members receive invitations and discounts to Mount Harmon events. Memberships are tax deductible and help to preserve Mount Harmon. See specific event listings below for detailed event information.
Mount Harmon Nature Trails Grand Opening / Saturday, May 2, 10 a.m to 3 p.m.
The Mount Harmon Nature Trails Grand Opening will showcase the plantation's new network of Nature Trails and Site Map - featuring Mount Harmon's historic and scenic points of interest. Mount Harmon's Nature Trails are a great new way to explore the plantation.
Self-guided Nature Trails are open from 10 a.m. ? 3 p.m. Guided Nature Walks at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (pre-registration recommended, call 410-275-8819). Guided Nature Walks and Manor House Tours included with admission.

Colonial Plantation Picnic / Sunday, June 7, 12 noon to 4 p.m.
One of the best times to visit Mount Harmon and experience its colonial heritage is at the annual Colonial Plantation Picnic. This year’s picnic features:
- a gourmet Eastern Shore picnic buffet with mini crab cakes, country ham, fried chicken, and summer salads.
- Silent Auction full of great gifts, antiques and specialty items donated from area businesses to raise funds for Mount Harmon programs and projects.
- Plantation Wagon Rides--a great way to get out and see Mount Harmon’s scenic beauty
- Colonial Demonstrations and Performances which will bring Mount Harmon’s colonial history to life – and offer fun for the whole family.
Tickets for adults are $35 and $10 for children. The ticket price includes admission to the museum, a gourmet Eastern Shore buffet, and colonial performances and demonstrations.
Annual Mount Harmon Bull & Oyster Roast / Saturday, October 3, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Mark your calendars for the annual Mount Harmon Plantation Bull and Oyster Roast! Mount Harmon’s Bull & Oyster Roast is held each fall to the delight of oyster lovers and friends of Mount Harmon. Manor House Tours will be given during the Social Hour. This year there will be a silent auction full of great gift items (bring you check book and get a jump start on your Christmas list) and live music.
Few colonial era plantations are open to the public or have settings that rival Mount Harmon’s spectacular waterfront location and natural beauty.The Bull & Oyster Roast is a great time to visit Mount Harmon and experience the Old World grandeur of the plantation, and one of the Eastern Shore’s finest delicacies – freshly shucked oysters!
Tickets are $50 per person and include oysters on the half shell and roasted oysters, a barbeque buffet, desert, beer and wine, a silent auction, and live music.
Yuletide Manor House Tour / Saturday and Sunday, December 5 & 6, 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Get into the holiday spirit with Mount Harmon’s Yuletide Manor House Tour. The elegant brick Georgian Manor House at Mount Harmon will be decorated for the holidays with festive wreaths and decorative arrangements, in the style of Colonial Williamsburg. The Greenfingers Garden Club will be making the holiday decorations using greens from Mount Harmon’s grounds, including boxwood, magnolia, pine, holly, and other seasonal favorites. A holiday greens sale will also be featured, with select greens and decorations available for sale.
Mount Harmon’s Colonial history will come to life with hearth cooking demonstrations in the Colonial kitchen, given by costumed interpreters. Visitors will delight in sampling freshly made ginger bread cooked on the hearth and Mount Harmon’s special Wassail Punch. Proceeds benefit Mount Harmon Plantation.
